Roof Tile Coatings
Super Glaze is a high-performance, thermoplastic resin that is designed to coat concrete, clay, steel and asphalt shingle roofs. This is the only roof tile coating system used within the US that is based on the Australian roof coating system, which is regarded as the most advanced in the world.
Using the Australian roof tile-coating model is important because it sets high standards and gives a benchmark of quality and success. After 35 years, more than one million tile roofs in Australia have been coated with applications similar to Super Glaze.
Many US manufacturers that produce tile roof coatings do not have the experience or expertise to make quality systems such as the significance of film build, cross-linking technology, glass transition temperature and advances in heat reflective pigment technology. This often leads to the incorrect specification of jobs and coating failures at job sites. Many of these same manufacturers do not even know how to correctly apply the coatings they produce.
Latex acrylic, electrometric or similar coating (painting) is not recommended for tile or metal roofs, as this process will have very short time of appearance and high maintenance cost and on the end within five years will be ready for recoating or replacing existing roofs.
